Born in Brooklyn, NY but raised in Holland, Virginia, I am a graduate of Hampton University. I earned a BA degree in Mass Media and MS degree in Community Counseling from Wilmington University.
I have always lived by the creed: “If I can help somebody as I pass along, if I can cheer somebody, with a word or a song, then my living will not be in vain." I have been truly blessed to live a life full of wonderful opportunities in diverse careers. I have had an expansive career in the Federal Government and have worked in the security industry in various capacities as a public servant for the last twenty years.
Currently I am member of the Bethel AME Church in Wilmington, Delaware where I gain my spiritual fulfillment and connection. I am a member of the Women’s Missionary Society, Aids Task Force of Bethel AME Church and the Beautiful Gate Outreach Center (BGOC), a faith-based ministry dedicated to and recognized locally and nationally for, their progressive outreach and HIV/AIDS education and prevention work. In addition, I am a member of the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League and am a Visiting Professor with the Black Executive Exchange Program (BEEP) where I mentor students at Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). I am provided the opportunity to share learning and experiences across generations and to cultivate new leaders and inspire personal and professional achievements beyond the present.
I am a state-certified HIV/AIDS Educator, a Youth HIV/AIDS Counselor and Program Coordinator at BGOC. I am the Coordinator of the Women 2 Women (CDC) pilot program for incarcerated women at Women’s Treatment Center (New Castle, Delaware). I am also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, Wilmington DE Alumnae Chapter where I continue to dedicate my life to community service.
